Menasha Packaging Pennsylvania Facility Recognized for Product Safety

August 06, 2014

Menasha Packaging’s Yukon Plant, located in Ruffs Dale, Penn., has once again been certified by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials. Additionally, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has recommended unconditional approval for continued registration for the Yukon Plant.

For the second straight year, the Yukon Plant received an “A” grade certification from BRC, which is a global product safety and quality standardization program. ISO also verified the Yukon Plant’s ability to implement and maintain an effective Quality Management System after a recent surveillance audit. Yukon received ISO 9001:2008 recertification in 2013, which lasts for three years.

“Menasha Packaging strives to make our customers feel confident in the safety of the products that we are supplying; our BRC and ISO certifications help provide that assurance,” said Deborah Long, Quality Manager for Menasha Packaging’s Western Pennsylvania Complex. “Maintaining these certifications each year has elevated the daily cleanliness standards at our facility making our plant always prepared for inspection.”

The BRC Global Standards are highly regarded and widely used by suppliers and retailers worldwide since they aid in standardizing quality, product safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations. Its Packaging and Packaging Materials standard is also a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) recognized scheme.

ISO is the world’s largest developer of voluntary International Standards and aims to make industry more efficient and effective. ISO provides cutting-edge specifications for products and services, along with best practices.
